Interasia Lines to Upsize Japan & Straits Direct Service (NS1)

Interasia Lines is pleased to announce from April 2019 onwards, the existing New Super 1 (NS1) Japan & Straits direct service operated jointly with Wan Hai Lines and Orient Overseas Container Line shall be upsized to Panamax vessel deployments.

The upsized NS1 will continue to run on 28 days’ round trip, with port callings at Osaka – Kobe – Nagoya - Yokohama - Tokyo - Hong Kong - Singapore – Port Klang – Cai Mep – Shekou - Hong Kong – Osaka.

The first Panamax vessel voyage is expected to phase in Hong Kong on the north bound loop to Japan calling around mid-April 2019.  The upgraded NS1 service will be comprised of a total of 4 Panamax vessels, with Interasia Lines contributing one vessel on the first upsized service voyage followed by Wan Hai Lines contributing two vessels and OOCL contributing one vessel.

With this new enhancement of NS1 Japan service string, Interasia Lines will further complement its current service coverages for the Japan / Straits areas by offering at least 3 current sailings under the New Super series i.e. NS1, NS2 and NS3.

By providing shippers and consignees more options of direct services between Japan and Straits in both directions, Interasia Lines has further demonstrated its commitment to market expansions in order to better serve customers’ needs.
